Fresh Drop: Banayad Jinjinir IPA.

Banayad’s newest b**r is an 8% IPA that takes inspiration from another alcoholic beverage: gin. Brewed with juniper, ginger, and lemon-lime, and matched with big, citrusy hops, Jinjinir is herby, spicy, bitter, floral, and offers plenty of kick.

It’s 220 per can in our strong b**r section.

Patricia “Ching” Calope keeps The B**r Coop clucking along, keeping our shelves stocked with all the b**rs from our partner breweries. If your favorite b**r isn’t available, rest assured that Ching is working hard to get it back in stock.

As for her own favorites, she’s picked two b**rs from Boondocks Brewery (full disclosure: Ching is a partner at Boondocks, and is married to the head brewer), and a b**r from Dumaguete’s Apolong Brewery. Care to try her faves? Come over to the Coop to taste them.

Here’s something you ought to know: there’s great craft b**r all over the Philippines. It can just be a challenge to find them, since these breweries are all over the map, and some are still too small to have their b**r regularly sold anywhere.

The recently held Philippine Craft B**r Cup has named the best b**rs currently available in the country. The B**r Coop joins the community in congratulating the winners, and we’re working really hard to make sure these award-winning b**rs are available for you to try!

Stop by the Coop and grab a bottle of Engkanto’s Paint It Purple Ube L***r, named the Champion B**r of 2026. Or grab a b**r from Mitchell’s Backyard Brewery, which took home eight medals. Or try out the b**rs of Coron Brewery, who surprised everyone with three gold medal-worthy entries.

From the shores of Northern Palawan, has just landed in The B**r Coop.

The first craft brewery in Coron has been serving a good variety of b**rs to locals and visitors to the island alike. Several of its b**r are named after Japanese ships that saw service in the Philippines and sank in Coron Bay. Olympia Maru, Irako, Akitsushima are familiar dive sites for enthusiasts in the area, with these old wrecks ripe for exploration.

So, learn a bit of history while sipping these six b**rs. Drop by the Coop and check them out.

Often, a b**r will be described as having “chocolate notes.” That doesn’t mean that it actually has chocolate in it! Dark b**rs are made with roasted malts, and their flavor tends to resemble other typically roasted ingredients, like coffee and chocolate.

There are b**rs, though, that do use chocolate as an ingredient. Hoppyside from Baler uses real cacao nibs from the province to lend the b**r a more distinct chocolate taste. Either way, chocoholics might like to try out a dark b**r to satisfy their cravings.
