Taos-pusong pakikiramay po sa buong pamilya 🙏

It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of our father, Perry Mariano.

To many, he was a pillar of Philippine billiards. To me, he was simply Dad.

He gave his whole life to the game and to the people in it. For generations, he stood behind the players, creating opportunities, opening doors, and helping shape the path of so many Pinoy bilyaristas. The game we know today carries so much of him.

This loss cuts so deep, but I know it is shared by the community he cared for and helped build.

Maraming salamat, Dad. You will always be part of the game.

Family and friends are warmly invited to pay their respects and share in moments of remembrance.

Jonas Magpantay just made history — not only by winning his first major international title, but by doing so in the most improbable way imaginable: coming through the qualifiers and going all the way to the top. To my knowledge, this has never been done before.

Magpantay defeated 🇵🇱 Szymon Kural 13–9 to capture the 10-ball title he’s always dreamed of.

He looked practically unbeatable throughout the event — showing elite-level shot making, precise cue ball control, unrelenting safety shots and the confidence of a top-seeded player… not someone who had to enter the qualifiers four times, just to make it into the main event — barely sneaking in via the point system.

There’s a lot more to unpack about this fairytale run, which I’ll cover in a separate article soon. But for now, let’s celebrate this incredible victory by “The Silent Killer,” who takes home a well-deserved, life-changing $100,000 champion’s purse.
