VIVA SEÑOR SANTO NIÑO!
STO. NIÑO DE TONDO CHURCH IS NOW A MINOR BASILICA!
Congratulations to the Archdiocesan Shrine of Sto. Niño de Tondo on its elevation to the rank and dignity of a Minor Basilica. This historic and grace-filled recognition is not only a great honor for the parish community of Tondo, but also a profound blessing for the entire Church in the Philippines.
The designation of a Minor Basilica is a sign of the Church’s recognition of the shrine’s deep spiritual significance, rich history, and unwavering witness to the Catholic faith. For generations, countless devotees have come before the Holy Child with hearts full of hope, gratitude, repentance, and prayer. Through joys and trials, the faithful have continued to entrust their lives to the loving care of the Sto. Niño, whose presence constantly reminds us of God’s humility, mercy, and closeness to His people.
May this elevation inspire even greater devotion to the Holy Child Jesus and renew the faith of all who visit this sacred place. May the basilica become even more a center of evangelization, prayer, charity, and unity, drawing souls closer to Christ and strengthening families and communities in the love of God.
As pilgrims enter this holy sanctuary, may they encounter not only the beauty of tradition and sacred worship, but most importantly the living presence of Christ who calls every person to holiness. May the faithful continue to grow in obedience, humility, and childlike trust in the Lord through the intercession of the Sto. Niño.
Let us give thanks to God for this wonderful blessing bestowed upon the Church of Tondo. May the newly elevated Minor Basilica continue to shine as a beacon of faith, hope, and love for generations to come.
Viva Sto. Niño!
