ASTORIA WINES BRINGS AN EXCLUSIVE TWO-DAY WINE EXPERIENCE TO CEBU
Cebu wine enthusiasts, hospitality professionals, and industry partners were treated to an exceptional two-day wine experience as Astoria Wines conducted a series of exclusive events in Cebu on May 29 and 30, 2026, personally hosted by Astoria Wines CEO, Mr. Filippo Polegato.
Day 1 – May 29, 2026
The Astoria Wines Cebu Tour commenced at 3:00 PM at Shangri-La Mactan Resort & Spa, where Mr. Filippo Polegato conducted an exclusive wine and service training for the resort's Food and Beverage Team. The session provided valuable insights into Astoria Wines' heritage, winemaking philosophy, and service standards, further strengthening the team's knowledge of Italian wines and hospitality.
That evening, 12 social media influencers and 32 guests from Cebu's event and wedding industry gathered at The Vault Room for an intimate four-course wine-pairing dinner prepared by Chef Saree, Chef Richard, and Chef Marvin. Guests were treated to Tomato Bruschetta, Camembert Pouch with Honey and Walnuts, Spaghetti Aglio Olio e Gamberi, Pollo Arrosto alle Erbe Italiane with Purè Vellutato e Verdure Grigliate, The Vault's Dark Chocolate Praline, with each course thoughtfully paired with selected Astoria wines.
The evening was formally opened by Mrs. Catherine M. Seniedo, Chief Operating Officer, followed by Mr. Polegato's presentation on the history of Astoria Wines and the winemaking techniques that have defined the family's legacy for generations.
Throughout the dinner, guests actively engaged with Mr. Polegato, asking questions about wine production, food pairing, and Italian wine culture. The interactive discussions, combined with exceptional cuisine and carefully selected wines, created a warm and memorable evening of learning, networking, and appreciation for fine Italian hospitality.

The celebration continued at Acqua Restaurant, Shangri-La Mactan Resort & Spa, where 40 guests attended an exclusive four-course dinner pairing featuring Astoria Wines in collaboration with the Shangri-La Food and Beverage Team.
Guests were warmly welcomed by Mr. John Orozco, Assistant Food & Beverage Manager of Shangri-La Mactan Resort & Spa, who expressed appreciation to attendees and highlighted the partnership between Shangri-La and Astoria Wines.
The evening's menu paid tribute to Italian flavors, beginning with Insalata di Mare, followed by Ravioli ai Gamberi, the signature Beef Cheeks Impressionista, and ending with Crema Bruciata all'Arancia. Each course was expertly paired with Astoria wines, allowing guests to experience how the wines complemented and enhanced the flavors of every dish.
Mr. Polegato then shared the story behind Astoria Wines, offering guests a deeper understanding of the winery's history, craftsmanship, and commitment to producing wines that reflect the character and traditions of Italy's renowned wine regions.
As the evening progressed, guests enjoyed lively conversations, exchanged insights on wine appreciation and food pairing, and interacted directly with Mr. Polegato.
