Hi friends.

Rinski's has now closed its doors for good.

I just wanted to say what a delight it has been to run this lovely little cafe in this delightful little suburb. Thanks to everyone who has supported us over the years.

I would also like to send my thanks to the many people who have worked at Rinski's. The greatest thanks is due to Jet, who worked so hard to make Rinski's a success. Thanks also to Katya, Zoe, Emma and Luke, who were working with me at the end, but I am grateful for the work of all of Rinski's staff.

I am hopeful that another groovy little business will pop up in Rinski's space and that Berhampore will keep growing into a cool neighbourhood. And with that in mind, I wish the other business owners of Berhampore –my neighbours for the past two and half years – all the best.

It's Rinski's' last Friday this week, which means that it's our last taco night. Big thanks to everyone who has supported us over the years. It has been enormous fun having you all in our little cafe on Friday nights.

Let us know if you are coming along this Friday and we'll hold a table for you.

I have the unfortunate announcement to make that Rinski’s will be taking a bit of a break. I am still in discussions with potential buyers, but I can’t keep the cafe open in the meantime.

My last day running Rinski’s will be Sunday the 23rd. After that, the cafe will be closed, at least until a new owner takes over.

So that’s about one more week of coffees and scones. I’ll be there Wednesday to Sunday, including one more Friday night tacos, if you want to come in and say goodbye. And a big thanks to all of you who have already given me your farewell wishes since I announced my intention to sell, all those months ago.

It is worth saying that Rinski’s is still not sold and a sale is not certain. If you have had thoughts of buying Rinski’s yourself or know of someone who might like to own Wellington’s loveliest cafe, this is the last chance to make that happen.

Hey all. This is Jet’s last week at Rinski’s. Friday will be her last day. She is moving on to a boring job in government. But hopefully you’ll still see her here as a customer on the weekends.

Jet’s been the fire in the Rinski kitchen since I took over in 2016, and I could not have taken on the business without her. She’ll be sorely missed by all – her great way with customers is a big part of what makes Rinski’s the lovely place it is.
