Behind every good beer reel is a bloke telling us to do that shot “one more time” 🍺🎥

Meet Dean - the creative brain behind a bunch of the videos you’ve seen from us and Sprig + Fern Tawa

In the early days after taking over the pub, he approached us with, “I love what you’re doing, I’ve got an idea.” Turns out he had quite a few.

Since then, he’s been helping us make cool content, suggesting better edits from behind the camera, and generally being an all-round GC.

This is what locals supporting locals looks like, so we figured it was time to put the camera on him for once.

Week one of having Araucaria Pizza Shop pop up with us and wow… the support from this community has been something special.

Locals have packed the place, the pub’s been buzzing, and the team at Araucaria have been absolutely smashing out hundreds of pizzas for dine in and takeaway.

It’s been busier than we ever expected (in the best way possible), so a huge thank you for your patience as we navigate some new ways of working together.

Seeing our community rally around a local business after everything they’ve been through has been pretty bloody cool to be part of.

From the locals down the road to those travelling across town for a slice, thank you 🍕

You’ve seen the posts, you’ve read the news, and now it’s day one of Araucaria Pizza Shop setting up shop at Sprig + Fern Berhampore 🍕

After the unexpected floods a few weeks back, Matias and his team lost their premises. Following a few weeks of logistics, planning, and figuring out “how do we run two operating systems out of one venue?” - we’ve officially opened the doors.

A lot of people have helped make this happen.

A shout out to our friends at The Greek Food Truck, who park outside our pub every Wednesday and Thursday. They’ve been more than willing to share the love in Berhampore and support what makes this little community special.

To Hospitality New Zealand, thank you for being a listening ear over the last few weeks and supporting not only the businesses impacted in our suburb, but those affected across the region.

And lastly, the community - thank you. We see the posts, the shares, the likes, the messages, and most importantly, the visits. We know support isn’t just coming from Berhampore either, people have been showing up from all over Pōneke to back local.

Araucaria takes over Sprig + Fern Berhampore

The devastating floods that impacted residents, businesses, and infrastructure in our suburb hit many hard a few weeks back. Our friends over at Araucaria Pizza Shop sadly lost their space and, to help get them back on their feet, while making sure our community doesn’t miss out on their favourite local pizza, they’ll be taking over our kitchen for the next few weeks.

Every Wednesday to Sunday | 4pm–9pm

Sprig + Fern Berhampore will still be serving a reduced menu and, most importantly, Sprig + Fern Brewing Co. beverages to enjoy alongside your pizza.

🎉 GOOD NEWS FRIDAY 🎉

It’s been a tough couple of weeks for Berhampore, so we wanted to share a bit of good news.

Sprig and Fern Berhampore has been named a finalist for “Best Local” at the Hospitality NZ Awards for Excellence 😍

This one means a lot, especially right now. Our community is everything to us, and we’re proud to be your local.

Winners announced in late June in Rotorua. Thank you for being part of what makes this place so special. 🫶

New beer drop ⬇️

LAST OF THE SUMMER HAZE • 5.3%

Brewed using NZH-111 trial hops grown by Master Growers in the Tasman region as part of the NZ Hops Bract Brewing Programme, this hazy pale ale brings a vibrant lift of citrus and spice, with a subtle nod to Sauvignon Blanc characteristics. Bright aromas lead into juicy citrus flavours, while a pillowy, rounded palate carries the haze with ease.

Light, refreshing and beautifully balanced at 5.3%, this hazy pale ale has both noble and modern hop expression from first sip to last. Perfect to enjoy alongside great company and the simple pleasures of long, golden summer days.
