Rare Beer Lovers, Big News!

The Rare Beer Challenge will be back for 2026! We’re pleased to announce that Auckland’s 16 Tun is proudly taking the baton to host New Zealand’s coolest and most unique craft beer event and fundraiser. Aucklanders will for the first time be able to explore the full line up of truly rare craft brew entries, crafted by passionate brewers all in the name of supporting Kiwis living with rare conditions.
Fear not Wellingtonians, we’re working on securing a Wellington satellite venue too - so stay tuned!

As we close the doors on 8 incredible years as a brewpub, this video from our final event feels like the perfect way to say goodbye. It captures everything Fortune Favours has stood for:- good people, laughter, collaborations, and always doing things a little differently. 🍻 We’re proud to have shared this last chapter with our friends , 150 years and still going strong!

Here at Fortune Favours, we’re all incredibly sad that our beloved Brew Bar is closing, and we can’t thank our community enough for the support that you’ve showed us since we’ve shared our news with you all.
That being said, we are happy to announce that our mates at Garage Project will be moving into the site, and that 7 Leeds Street will remain a craft brewery and become the home of another Wellington icon.
Most of our staff will be staying on, so you’ll still see some familiar faces behind the bar when you come in to visit.
In times like these, it’s so important to support local, and what better way to do it by drinking good beer.
