Evening everyone,

As some may already know both Rae and myself worked our last shifts at The Clary on Saturday and whilst this was not by our choice, we respect the decision that has been made by Wawa.
We’d just like to take the opportunity to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported us over the many years and in particular those who continued to support our efforts over the past 12 months as we strived to keep our local alive!

Moving forward Wawa has made the decision to run the pub on her own and both Rae and I wish her all the best for the future.
She has assured us it will be business as usual so pop on in for a nice cold drink!

Once again words truly cannot express how grateful we are to each and every one who has stopped in for a drink, sat at the bar for a chat, joined us for quiz nights, karaoke and raves - your support never went unnoticed and was and still is truly appreciated by Rae and I.

Our Queen is turning 80 and is ready to celebrate!
Some call her Aunty Shorty, Helen or even Mrs Luke - others call her Nanz.
No matter what you call her, she is a legend to us all.
Always there for a quick chat, to offer a hand in times of need, to share a cuppa or something a bit stronger 😂
This is super late ⏰ but tomorrow night the 25th of January 2025 from 6pm we will be celebrating 🥳 this wonderful woman with a night full of love, laughter and something she loves 🎤 Karaoke!
She’d love to see you for a quick drink, a sing a long or to see the night out with her.
Come one, come all - let’s celebrate her as she so rightly deserves 💕

Good afternoon,
Due to the sudden loss of our beautiful Rae’s whānau member we will be closed this week.
We thank you all for your understanding.
Our love, support and sympathies are with Rae and her whānau as they navigate this most difficult time.

He was most definitely one of a kind with a heart of gold and a laugh that you’d never forget!
May you rest in paradise, reunited with all those that have gone before you to sharing a 🍻 or two.

Again we thank you for your understanding at this time.

As the festive season approaches (fast) we would like to invite everyone to join us on Xmas Eve for one last celebration 🎉 before the big day - DN all its madness 🤪

We will be open on Tuesday 24th December 2024 from 3pm till closing.
The lovely Rae will have drink specials and other surprises to celebrate with!
She would love to see you all.

We will be closed Xmas and Boxing Day to enable our fabulous staff time with family and friends at this special time of year.

The Clarendon Hotel - A Piece of Waverley History

Built in 1878, the Clarendon Hotel had 21 rooms. By 1906 the hotel had been extended to 29 rooms, including 19 bedrooms, 4 sitting rooms, a commercial room and a dining room able to accommodate 50 people. The hotel survived a fire in 1907 which burnt the front only. There were stables where the Taranaki Farmers building now stands. Today it remains the hub of the local community's social scene hosting regular events and supporting various community projects.
