When we moved from Auckland to Warkworth, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But trading traffic jams for 11,000 square meters of native bush turned out to be the best decision ever.

Most of our property is now thriving native bush, and last year we partnered with the Forest & Bird Trust to protect kiwi populations. I’ll admit, I thought kiwi sightings were about as likely as winning Lotto.

But then—BAM! A young male kiwi was spotted nearby, and my neighbor’s audio recorder picked up 8 different kiwi calls just 600 meters from our property. KIWIS ARE HERE, and they’re basically our new backyard buddies.
