Not only do I suggest storage solutions to people, in this case, clear shoe boxes for a rather large high heel collection, but I also do the stuff that you don’t want to do.. in this case.. put the flat packed boxes all together 😅

Congratulations to my clients for recent arrival of their beautiful baby boy.

Pantry organisation 💡

If you’ve got high shelving in your pantry, try these 3 Tier Shelves from Kmart New Zealand

They come in white (and grey), clear (and grey), and bamboo.

A great way to raise hidden pantry items from the back of the cupboard so they don’t go amiss and get forgotten.

WARDROBE ORGANISATION

Before we even get into storage solutions and maximising space… start with the basics:

1. Organise clothes by category and then by colour.

It’s much easier to find something to wear if you know exactly where to find it.
What ‘category?’ Ie. Dressy/Going Out, Work/Corporate or Casual?
Then arrange by colour within these categories. Ie. Black to grey to brown to red or orange to pink to purple to blue to green to yellow to white

2. Separate the seasons

Especially important if you have limited wardrobe space.. in summer, pack away your winter garments and vice versa, summer in winter.
If you are likely not going to wear it for a few months, move it out to make more room.

3. Clear out every several months

Go through your wardrobe every so often and get rid of anything you no longer fit, no longer wear or don’t want anymore.
Will you wear it again one day? Pack it away.
Can you sell it to make some money back? On sell
Would someone else wear it? Donate to charity
Is it not wearable? Use as rags or donate to a mechanics for rags.

Hi all, it’s been a while in between posts, sorry.
I’ll do a little update video soon but just an FYI, this isn’t my main biz, and I’ve been super busy with my other work (personal training etc ) but, never fear, I am always available to message and for consults and S.O.R.T jobs.. I just can’t update social regularly. 🙃

A top S.O.R.T tip is to utilise your spaces well and don’t overload.
This kitchen pantry had lots of unused space with not enough shelving.. so we put in extra shelves onto the wall (more done after photo) and found a roller trolley for more floor storage.

Some of the ‘unused’ items were removed and stacked in storage for when extra dinner party guests came over, making the space much less cluttered and workable.

I had a friend over the other day while I was cleaning up the kitchen and she asked what on earth I was doing lining my stove elements with tinfoil.
I was like ‘What do you meeeeaaaan?’
I thought everyone knew this 😅🤪

So, of course, these days, many of us have ceramic cook tops so no need to line elements and if you do have the old style element stovetop, you may just use the inserts that it comes with (our oven is super old and there wasn’t any with the oven when we bought the house), though these can also be lined with foil to save having to scrub them as well.
Now, you can buy aluminium disposable inserts but using good ole tinfoil is more cost effective.

This video done super quick so not the tidiest cut liners, but you get the idea!

The holiday season can be a hard time for some, for so many reasons.. work stress, financial stress, family and relationship stress; trying to get everything done and in time for special events and occasions etc
(Not to mention keeping your house S.O.R.Ted!)

Please, be kind to yourselves.
After years of uncertainties and a never ending mental/emotional rollercoaster.. (a.k.a covid) it’s so understandable that this Christmas/New Year, you might just need to take it easy. And that’s OK.
