🌦️ First trading day of winter! Just a touch gloomy here in the valley, but it's bright and cosy inside and we're thinking dumplings for dinner tonight! 🥟

🍪 We've got fresh baked cheese & onion scones, blueberry muffins, chocolate brownie, dark chocolate cookies and hot steak pies in the warmer 🥧

❓ A few FAQ's we've been getting recently:

☃️ YES! We'll be open all winter, Thursday - Saturday from 10am-9pm every week, with Sundays returning as it warms up later in the year 🌸

👋 NO! The tavern hasn't sold, it isn't for sale, and we aren't going anywhere 😘

🍕 PIZZA! Yeah it's taking forever to get going, we have had some technical difficulties getting this set up, but it's definitely underway, promise!

🌞 It's another beautiful day in the valley! We've got Pottery Embassy doing a workshop here this afternoon and May Quiz Night + Buffet Dinner on from 5.30pm tonight 🖋️

🍞 Bread is baked and ready to collect for all preorders.

❄️ From next week Winter is here! And we're looking forward to being open throughout the cold season, with our current hours of 10am - 9pm Thursday - Saturday 😊

🖋️ This time next Saturday it will be almost time for our May Quiz Night + Buffet Dinner! Get in touch to book your table, entry is $5 per person, teams of max 6. Dinner starts at 5.30pm and the quiz gets going from 6.30pm.

🍽️ Buffet dinner is $30 for adults / $18 for kids, menu below 🍴 You can just do the quiz, or the quiz and buffet, or even just come for the buffet to see what the quiz is all about 😋

🌏 Believe It Or Not Quiz Nights are fun, relaxed events for all ages, with questions ranging across the board from sport, history, art, geography and much more 🖼️

🏆 Prizes include tavern vouchers and sponsored goodies 🧢

🍞 Yep we're open ANZAC day! 🥧

🥐 From 10am we'll have our daily range of fresh baking, homemade pies and a few spare seed & grain sourdough loaves. It might even be cinnamon bun day...... 👀

☕ This week we've swapped out our Sublime Custom beans for a single origin Papua New Guinea bean, Alex's favourite, sorry not sorry, come try it ❤️

🐔 Kitchen will be open for lunch between 11.30 and 2.30pm, all the usual goodies including our much loved fried chicken, burgers and more 🍔

⌚ From 5.30pm it's April Quiz Night + Buffet Dinner and we still have space for teams! Come try it out, get in touch asap to book, prizes are bar tabs and sponsored goodies 👕

🍛 Dinner is a curry buffet with fresh, homemade naan. Butter chicken and beef rendang with rice, salad, and something sweet at half time. We'll have a pared down bar snack menu running too, but you'll need to be in the garden bar or happy chilling in with the quizzers 🖊️

🕺Got plans Tuesday evening?! Come along to the Tavern for music, food and drinks 🍻

🥂 We're throwing together a wee last minute party, mostly cause Mat is coming round and he's keen to play some tunes, but also to celebrate the Tavern's birthday! We'll be open from 5pm for drinks, pizza will start coming out at 6pm and the music will be starting from 7pm. Everyone is welcome to pop in, we'd love to see you all!

🎶 The music - Mat Enright, from Newtown Rocksteady, is on a solo tour and making a pit stop at the Tavern!

🍌 Come and see the fantastic Bunch of Bananas tour! Featuring the hit singles "A Billion dollars for no boats" and "Mcskimming over the details" among many other original and classic Folk, Blues, Reggae, Ragtime, Rock'n'Roll, Swing, and Piedmont tunes. A craft many years in the making, this will be an entertaining evening of light hearted and honest good time music.

🍟 The food - we are having a bottomless pizza buffet to showcase our new pizza oven! A variety of flavours will be on offer, served as slices of big, Roman tray pizzas. And hot chips too, cause who doesn't love chips.

🎂 And cake cause, well, this month is the Tavern's 170th birthday, we don't know exactly when, so we're just going to make it Tuesday! Flavour to be confirmed, but there will definitely be strawberries involved.

💲For the music - we are asking for a koha/donation, which will go directly to Mat 🙏

🍕For the food - $25 adult / $15 kids for pizza and chips, cake is complimentary 😊
