This Blue September will go a long way to bringing down the most commonly diagnosed cancer for kiwi men and the Nikau are proud to be raising funds this Sunday 13th September from 11:30 to 2:30pm with the proceeds from the lunch going to this great cause.

Here's how your funds will get to work:

Powering research into better diagnosis and treatments to improve outcomes from prostate cancer diagnoses.

Helping make a lot of noise to advocate for improved healthcare services for men with prostate cancer.

Raising awareness about prostate cancer and the importance of getting regular checks for men.

Thanks to all who have donated towards this great cause. We are grateful and look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday!

Nikau Café & Bar in beautiful Pōhara, Golden Bay is looking for an experienced chef who can step up and help lead our kitchen through the coming season alongside our other chef's in our busy 7 day a week, multi shift, cafe, restaurant and bar.

We're looking for someone who can cook and importantly, someone who can lead.

Someone who can organise a busy kitchen, develop the people around them, maintain standards, control costs and keep things moving and our customers happy.

You'll be joining an established café and bar with a great location, loyal local following and a busy visitor season ahead.

What we're looking for:

• Strong chef experience
• Confidence leading a kitchen and developing a team
• Calm organisation during busy services
• Good understanding of food and wage costs
• Consistency and high standards
• A genuine team mentality
• Someone prepared to roll up their sleeves and lead from within the kitchen

And when you're not working?

You're in Golden Bay! - beaches, walks, fishing, tramping and Abel Tasman on the doorstep.
