Meet the team behind Long Gully Hops 🌿

On a beautiful day in Tapawera, we caught up with NZ Hops Master Growers Laura and Andrew Fry from Long Gully Hops as they planted their first year of NZH-109.

Alongside Andrew’s dad, Kevin, they are first-generation growers who have proudly been growing hops for the co-op for the past seven years.

As they look ahead to the 2027 harvest, they’ll be growing Nectaron®, Wai-iti™, Nelson Sauvin™, Moutere®, and now NZH-109 💚

36 years. Countless fixes. One absolute legend. 💚

Today we said happy retirement to Terry Palmer, our Processing Manager, fixer extraordinaire and resident ‘processing machine whisperer’. ⚒️🔩⚙️

There isn’t much Terry doesn’t know about machinery, engineering or how to fix just about anything at NZ Hops HQ, and we’ve been incredibly lucky to have him as part of our team for the past 36 years.

All the very best for your retirement, Terry. We couldn’t have done it without you and you’ll be very missed.
