 I hope everyone has come to grips with Daylight savings by now.  The early wake-up hurts, but the glorious sunny afternoons we've been having more than make up for it!  Perfect weather to sit out on the Sports Lounge deck and catch up with friends over a drink or two.

What a great night, thank you to our members for making it success. A big thank you to all the volunteers who helped on the door, put out extra tables and chairs collected glassware, to our Board Memebers and huge thank you to our team. Without our team in the kitchen, on the bar, our cleaners we could not have done it without you.

Congratulations to all the winners tonight, thanks for supporting your Club.

We hope to you all again on Wednesday for our AGM which starts at 6:00 pm.

🎷 Pensioners Social – Tuesday 8 September

Join us for our new Pensioners Social, held every four weeks on a Tuesday at Porirua Club.

Enjoy live music from Don the Saxman, with toasted sandwiches and bar snacks available to purchase.

A relaxed afternoon to catch up, enjoy the music and spend time together at the Club.

Sunday night at Eastwood is looking a little different this week and different to advertised in the Newsletter.

For this Sunday only, we’ll be offering a special limited dinner menu with four easy favourites:

Fish & Chips • Burgers • Loaded Wedges • Nachos

Our usual Sunday roast won’t be available this week, but there’s still plenty to enjoy.

$4,400 MEMBERSHIP DRAW TONIGHT! 💰

It’s Friday at the Porirua Club, with the $4,400 Membership Draw, cash and meat raffles, the Lucky Club Credit Draw, and Eastwood open for lunch and dinner.

There’s plenty more coming up too — including a big Sunday of sport, Father’s Day at Eastwood, AGM information, Blue September, restaurant specials and all the week’s Club activities.

As part of its governance role, the Board has been taking a close look at what is working well, what isn’t, and where we need to make changes to keep the Club financially sustainable.

Unfortunately, some of those decisions are not easy ones.

Our courtesy van, which has become increasingly expensive to maintain as it has aged, is likely to go, and the Board has also made the decision to discontinue our monthly pensioner lunches.

We know these services have been valued by some of our members, so we appreciate that there will be disappointment.

A reminder, though, that members can receive $2 back onto their Club account for eligible Uber or taxi trips to or from the Club. Conditions apply, and you’ll find all the details at https://go.poriruaclub.co.nz/safetrip
