Hi all,

It is with heavy hearts that we regret to inform you that the Oturehua Railway Hotel will be closing its doors effective 1 June 2026.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen health issues, we are unable to continue operating until a potential new buyer takes over.

With that being said, the pub is still for sale and we are hoping for a positive outcome that allows a new family, individual or team to take over and keep the Railway Hotel running — not only for the benefit of the local community, but also for the many travellers who pass through from far and wide.

This decision has not been made lightly, but we do need to put our health first and do what is right for us and our family.

We would like to thank everyone for their ongoing support over the past two decades.
