With the help of some great people, Rough Ridge Railway Hotel has had a refresh and is ready to go! 🍻

We’ve kept some of the old and mixed it with some of the new, but there’s still more to do.

The first meals have been served, and the first beers and wines have been poured.

Tomorrow we’ll be easing into service with a delicious reduced menu while we get everything firing on all cylinders, available through until 6:30pm.

From 7:30pm onwards, we’ll be serving a continuous supper throughout the evening

🎶 Boaz Anema & the Constrictors will be bringing the live music from 8:30pm, so expect a great night of food, drinks and dancing!

🚌 Nina, our courtesy coach from Wedderburn Tavern will be running from 11:00pm, so you can relax and enjoy the evening knowing you’ve got a ride home.

We can’t wait to welcome you to Rough Ridge! Thank you for your patience and support as we get up and running — we’re looking forward to a fantastic night with you all. ❤️

Rough Ridge Railway Hotel Rebranding!

Boaz Anema and his band Bo and the Constrictors will provide the live soundtrack, we will provide the cold beer and hot food, you will create the memories.

If history repeats itself, there'll probably be a few questionable dance moves, singing which sounds better afer a couple of beers and a couple of sore heads the following day.

Some places are more than just a pub, they're where stories are shared, friendships are made, and communities come together.

Today, we're incredibly proud to announce the next chapter for one of Central Otago's most iconic country hotels.

The Oturehua Railway Hotel is returning to its original name and will once again be known as the Rough Ridge Railway Hotel.

From 4 September, this historic hotel begins a new journey, honouring its rich past while creating an exciting future for locals, travellers, cyclists and everyone lucky enough to pass through our beautiful corner of the world.

The Rough Ridge Railway Hotel has welcomed generations of visitors to the Ida Valley, and we're excited to bring that name back to life. It's about celebrating our heritage, our incredible community, and everything that makes Central Otago such a special place to live and visit.

We can't wait to share what's in store over the coming weeks as we prepare to reopen the doors under the Rough Ridge Railway Hotel name.

Here's to preserving history, supporting our community, and creating many more memories together.
