The Postboy Hotel was licensed by George Potter in 1868, in a house built in 1866. His widow continued to run the hotel for several years after his death in 1872. The building was condemned by the licensing committee in 1930 and a new hotel opened in December of that year, with the name The Club. In March 1939 The name reverted to The Postboy.

Well well well, let's get this party started with The Blues. Controversy alert with the super rugby final series setup, but we're rolling with it - semifinal time is here. Two massive matchups kick off Friday night with the Gallagher Chiefs taking on the defending champs Crusaders, followed by the table-topping Hurricanes against the Blues who are just happy to be here. Wear your colours, bring your mates, and let's make some noise - cowbells are totally a thing... horses, not so much.

Karaoke is also blasting Friday night and theOne NZ Warriors finally get to play at home Saturday night against the Cronulla Sharks. The Football World Cup starts Friday. Who's your tips for the weekend?

The Super Rugby playoffs are getting real, folks! Kick off your weekend with the Hurricanes taking on the ACT Brumbies on Friday night, followed by the Crusaders smashing into the Blues on Saturday, and wrapping up with the Gallagher Chiefs battling the Queensland Reds. Meanwhile, the One NZ Warriors are chilling with a well-deserved bye, but don't worry, the NRL's got some ripper matches, including the Brisbane Broncos going head-to-head with the Gold Coast Titans. Grab your mates, crack open some cold ones, and cheer on your team. Oh, and don't forget it's Karaoke night on Fridays, so warm up those vocal cords! Awesome games are happening this week with some wicked local derbies in the super rugby, state of origin 1 and top of the table clash in the NRL.

Wednesday night it kicks off with Queensland V NSW, Friday the Crusaders tackle the Table topping Hurricanes, Saturday night The Blues V Gallagher Chiefs then Sunday we get to see if the One NZ Warriors are the real deal against the Penrith Panthers.

Big weekend of sport coming up kicking off Friday night with the Crusaders vs Gallagher Chiefs, because who needs a social life when you can watch rugby.

Saturday who you gonna watch, the Hurricanes vs Highlanders, One NZ Warriors vs Dragons or the grand final Auckland FC vs Sydney FC, it is a sports smorgasbord of epic proportions.

Cracker lineup, get your team colours on and get in for a cold one and make some noise, because your team needs your questionable singing voice.

Lots of sports on this week, cuz! Wellington Phoenix FC women are in the final on Saturday, and it's gonna be lit. Women state of origin kick off game 2 on Thursday night, and then it's super rugby derby time Friday and Saturday - Gallagher Chiefs vs Highlanders is gonna be spicy, and don't even get me started on The Blues vs Hurricanes. The One NZ Warriors are back at it Sunday night against the Brisbane Broncos, so grab your tribe and cheer on your team at the Post Boy Hotel.

The Pink Ribbon fundraiser was once again a success. We extend our gratitude to all who donated goods, prepared food, and assisted Post Boy Hotel in raising funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ. The event generated $4500, with a couple of raffles and Hangi to finish off on Sunday. Congratulations are in order for the staff on a job well done.

Pink ribbon fundraiser today at the Post Boy Hotel, raising money for breast cancer New Zealand.
Kicks off at 2pm with raffles, auctions, nibbles. Live music with Ricc Starr at 3pm and a $15 bbq about 4pm including pudding.

I've got to give a shout-out to the team for being the hottest ticket in town right now, and I'm super grateful to some awesome individuals who've helped make that happen. First off, big thanks to local legend Alistar for hooking us up with Andrew, Lincoln, and Katelin from the One NZ Warriors Warriors Community Foundation, which scored us some sweet merchandise for our Breast Cancer Foundation NZ Pink Ribbon Fundraiser. I'm totally stoked to have landed a signed 2026 Warriors replica team jersey, which we'll be auctioning off with all proceeds going to the fundraiser.
