What a night. What a community. And what an incredible amount of glitter! 😂👠

Last night, Glitter Balls brought together a room full of people ready to laugh, have fun and make a difference. Thanks to everyone who got behind it, we raised $6,130 for the Cancer Society Nelson Tasman!

A massive thank you to everyone who bought a ticket, came along, donated, bid in the charity auction, volunteered, performed or helped make the night happen. And especially to our audience, you brought the energy, the laughter and the generosity that made the whole night so special. ❤️

To our cast, thank you for stepping outside your comfort zones and giving it everything. The rehearsals, costumes, nerves and questionable dance moves were all worth it!

We also couldn't have done it without the generous support of The Car Company, Stoke New World, Boutique Motels, Waahi Takaro Golf Course, and Tasman Mako. Thank you for getting behind our little bit of madness and helping turn it into something that will make a real difference.

Cancer touches so many of our lives, and the Cancer Society is one of those organisations that is there when people and families need support most. Being able to come together, have a brilliant night and give something back is what makes this community so special.

Thank you, Nelson. You helped make this happen. 💛

And yes, I'm still trying to get rid of all the glitter...

And not only in the pub. 🤣✨

Friday, we’re backing our Mako against Otago. Saturday, the Ranfurly Shield is on the line before the WAHS TAKE ON THE DOLPHINS IN THE NRL QUARTER FINALS! 💚💙

Then Sunday morning, it’s All Blacks v Springboks with cooked breakfasts available. 🍳🏉

And Stan’s putting his money where his mouth is! 💰 $1,000 for food and drinks on the bar in EACH of the Mako, Wahs and ABs games if he correctly picks the first try scorer! 🍻

Big screens, big games, and hopefully a few big shouts. Get your mates together and get down to The Turf!

Saturday at 5pm is the big one.

The Warriors take on Manly, and we’ll be watching the boys chase history as they look to become minor premiers.

This is not a couch game.

This is a cold drink in hand, big screen, full pub, every tackle matters kind of game.

And at the same time, the Mako take on Wellington, so the screens are going to be working overtime.

Then once the sport settles down, The Bragg Band hit the stage and turn Saturday night all the way up.

The Mako are taking on Northland for the Ranfurly Shield, and we’ll be showing it BIG, LOUD, and PROPERLY at The Turf 🦈

This is the kind of game you don’t watch quietly on the couch.

You watch it with a cold drink in hand, a room full of locals, and everyone riding every tackle, every kick, and every try.

And that’s just Sunday.

🎤 THURSDAY
Karaoke kicks the weekend into gear. Step up, sing loud, pretend you meant that high note.

🎸 FRIDAY
Hazy Bayz hit the stage and get the weekend properly moving.

🔥 SATURDAY
The Bragg Band are back to fill the dancefloor and fire up the room.

How good is this!

Yesterday I was lucky enough to receive a signed Tasman Mako FPC team jersey, and I have to say, it’s pretty special seeing The Turf Hotel sitting proudly on the front.

We’re incredibly proud to support local sport, especially a team full of talented, hardworking players representing our region with so much passion.

This one won’t be getting tucked away in a cupboard.

It’ll be framed, mounted, and given pride of place in the bar where it belongs.

Huge thanks to the Tasman Mako FPC team. We’re proud to be part of your journey and we’ll be backing you all the way.
