The 10th/11th and 16th/17th Grade Tasman Regional Tournaments has come to an end — what an awesome couple of days it has been!

A massive thank you to our dedicated referees — your time, energy, and commitment over the tournament has been outstanding. We couldn't have done it without you.

To our coaches, managers and of course the supportive families and friends – thank you. Your passion and energy over the last two days has created a vibrant and positive atmosphere around Saxton Fields.

To our 21 competing teams – you’ve all contributed to a very successful tournament. You should be extremely proud of your efforts, your sportsmanship, and the way you’ve represented your clubs.

What a fantastic start to the 2026 10th/11th and 16th/17th Grade Tasman Regional Tournaments!

Nelson was buzzing today as teams from across the region took to the fields, with both age groups producing plenty of exciting football, great skills and competitive games throughout the day. It was fantastic to see so many players enjoying the opportunity to play tournament football, represent their clubs and test themselves against teams from around the region.

A special thank you to our referees for giving up their time and helping us deliver a full day of football across the fields. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.

A huge shout-out to our spectators around the grounds who were recognised today with a Joe's Garage voucher for displaying positive, encouraging and supportive sideline behavior. We love seeing our football community getting behind the players in the right way — positive encouragement, respect and support make such a difference to our young players.

Well done to everyone involved in Day 1!

Congratulations to our Festival Winners, Christchurch United FC Blue, our Runner-Up, Cashmere Technical FC Blue, and 3rd Place, FC Nelson — a fantastic achievement from all three teams!

⚽ DAY 2 COMPLETE – 11TH GRADE JACK McKNIGHT FESTIVAL ⚽

Day 2 of the 11th Grade Jack McKnight Festival has wrapped up in Nelson — and what a fantastic day it has been!

The players continued to impress across the fields, showcasing some great skills, teamwork, determination and enthusiasm. There was plenty of exciting football on display, with every team giving it their all.

The atmosphere around Saxton Fields has been brilliant, with coaches, managers, families and supporters getting behind the players and helping create such a positive and enjoyable tournament environment.

Good luck to all teams for Finals Day — we can’t wait to see you back on the fields tomorrow.

What a fantastic start to the 2026 11th Grade Jack McKnight Festival!

Saxton Fields came alive as 17 teams took to the pitches, bringing plenty of energy, excitement, and quality football throughout the day.

It was fantastic to see the players out on the field, enjoying their football, showing their skills and competing hard while creating a great atmosphere around the grounds.

A special thank you to our referees for their time and commitment throughout the day, and to all the coaches, managers, and supporters for getting behind their teams and helping the day run like clockwork.

Whether you’re a player, coach, parent, supporter or simply passionate about football, becoming a referee is a great way to stay involved in the game and make a difference.

All participants are required to complete the theory module prior to the practical session on Wednesday 9th September.
