🤳 RED IPA? 🤳

The iconic and much loved Abandoned Red IPA is now back on tap at Abandoned Petone! Is a Red IPA an autumn drink? spring beer? The truth is that time is meaningless. Drink Red IPA at 10 am on a Tuesday in February (responsibly), and enjoy big toffee malt richness with citrus hop bite to back it up.

Jeremy Corbett, one of NZ's favourite MCs and comedians, Jeremy has headlined stages around NZ. And Justine Smith, who has established herself as one of the best bloody stand ups we have here in New Zealand!

Jack Ansett and James Nokise - 8pm til late

Jack Ansett, as seen on TaskmasterNZ, on Guy Montgomery's Guy-Mont Spelling Bee, the NZ Comedy Gala, and 7Days. With James Nokise, who has carved out a reputation in New Zealand.

As a special Christmas treat, we've decided to force a bunch of our staff into not taking holidays so that YOU can eat drink and be merry in our taprooms right the way into the new year!

We've even decided to open up some days we wouldn't usually, so study these images and lock in a visit on your calendars! And, just to top things off, there will also be a very special beer on tap... Something that rhymes with Hazy #19...

🎄 NEW BEER ON TAP FOR XMAS 🎄

We've brought back one of our all-time favourites and the next up in our iconic Hazy IPA series just in time for Christmas!!?!

Aotearoa IPA, 7.0%
If there’s one thing Aotearoa does as well as growing w**d it’s growing fu***ng unreal hops. We decided to combine the two by smoking as much w**d as we could handle, then brainstorming the unique combination of Riwaka, Motueka and NZ Cascade that went into this.

HAZY #19, 6.5%
Again you might be asking yourself “That hazy #18 was perfect in every way, how could they possibly beat that!?” Well the answer is Centennial, Talus, Citra and Azzacca. Didn’t see that one coming did ya? Idiot.

🌭 Brisket Melt 🌭

We made a few changes to the menu a few months ago, and thought it's about time we actually advertised some of them. So, unless our lazy social media manager forgets, we'll be posting them over the next few weeks!

First up, we've got Leroy's favourite! The Brisket Melt ™!!!!!!!

The finest Brisket slow-cooked for 2 whole days and nights!
A beef jus boiled, strained, then boiled again for 4 straight days!
Button mushrooms grown specially for us for a lot longer than a few days probably.
Green peppers not really sure what else to add here
Onions gently caramalised over 7 straight days
The finest imported Maasdam and Mozzarella
Nestled comfortably between two slices of Brezelmania sourdough
And just when you thought it couldn't get any better, or more labour intensive, it's served with our iconic creole fries!!?!

Get in and taste the literal blood, sweat and tears that went into making this sandwich!

Abandoned Petone has made the extremely difficult choice of no longer supplying beer... We realise this may be a disappointment to some of you, but honestly, we're bored of pouring fizzy alcoholic p**s into glasses. It's all become a bit predictable.

From now on Abandoned Petone is a high-class cocktail bar, specialising in extremely painstakingly slow, methodical, and in-house artisan cocktails!

Here's our first (of many) cocktail of the month specials!!?!

The Gimlet - Gin, Lime, Sugar all made from scratch in-house.

Get in and try it before it's gone, and keep your eyes peeled for next month's creation!
