Two absolute Little Wanganui icons, surrounded by family, friends and so many familiar faces – it was a night full of stories, laughs and love. We felt incredibly lucky to be part of such a huge milestone and to put on this spread for such wonderful people.

It’s Friday, which means only one thing… Fish & Chips Friday at Little Wanga 🐟🍟

Perfectly golden, beer-battered fish, crispy chips and that “just one more bite” crunch you’ve been dreaming about all week.

🚨 Sunday Roast is BACK, Little Wanga! 🚨

After a wee holiday break over Xmas & New Year, our legendary Sunday Roast is making its glorious return tomorrow… and we’re kicking things off with a banger:

🐖 Roast Pork with proper crackle
🍽 All the trimmings
🍰 Dessert to follow
💰 $25 per person

Think crispy crackle, gravy dreams and that “I’m not cooking tonight” feeling.

⚠️ Bookings are essential and must be in by tonight (Saturday) so we know how many porkies to put in the oven. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Round up the crew, give us a buzz, and let us do the hard yards while you roll in, eat well, and waddle out happy.

Pizza prep is in full swing and the kitchen is already throwing out dangerous smells…

All our bases are house-made fresh today, the pumpkin is roasted, the dressings are done and Alana’s been busy making magic.

Meanwhile, outside is doing that classic West Coast thing where it can’t decide if it’s raining, spitting, or just being dramatic. Either way… it’s not BBQ weather. It is pub weather.

Pizzas are back on tomorrow night for Therapy Thursday… because let’s be honest, the weekend starts on Thursday at the pub 🍕🍻

This week’s headliners:
🎣 Smoked Salmon – with cream cheese, capers, rocket, mozzarella and Alana’s famous dill & caper dressing (… and yes, it’s bloody good).
🎃 Golden Harvest – roasted pumpkin, caramelised red onion, feta, mozzarella and a sticky balsamic glaze. Basically a hug on a pizza base.

It’s also Thirsty Thursday with Happy Hour 5–7pm, so round up your crew, clock off early, and let us do the cooking while you do the “just one more”.

A very overdue update – and a massive one at that.

Back in November we held our Wax Off night. It’s now January, and the only reason this update has taken so long is because we had to wait for all the I.O.U’s to come in before we could bank the final amount – so apologies for the delay.

But wow… what a night, and what a result.

Thanks to every single person who came along, bid, donated, laughed, cringed and supported, we raised an incredible $5,599.

For a small community, that is HUGE – and it just shows what an unbelievably generous, kind bunch of humans we are lucky enough to call our locals.

We were able to donate:
💙 $2,799.50 to Movember
🎀 $2,799.50 to Breast Cancer
An even split, and a bloody proud moment.

Thank you to the brave souls who put their bodies on the line and will never quite be the same again – whether it was chest hair, eyebrows or mo’s that met their maker… your sacrifice will live on in pub legend.

To those who bid on wax strips – don’t get too comfortable, this event will be back and we’ll be calling on you next.

And to the mystery bottle bidders… whether you walked away with dishwashing liquid, soy sauce, or a decent bottle of whisky – it was all for a bloody good cause.

Right, Little Wanga… it’s Tuesday.
And Tuesday = Fish & Chips o’clock 🐟🍟
You all say ours are the best.
You all ask how we do it.
We all nod, grin, and absolutely do not tell you.
What we can tell you is this:
The sun’s out.
There’s no wind.
The beer garden is perfection.
And the fryer is ready for action.
So ditch the pots, pans and “what’s for dinner?” debate.
Come grab a cold one in the sun, let us cook, then take hot fish & chips home like the hero you are.
No mess. No stress. Just crispy goodness and a smug little smile knowing you didn’t lift a finger. 🍻

It’s Monday… the weekend’s packed up its bags and some of you might be feeling a bit meh about it. But fear not, legends – the sun’s out, the sky’s blue, and our beer garden is absolutely calling your name.
Even Socks knows what’s up. Our resident pub cat has already claimed the comfiest spot in the sun and reckons Mondays are made for stretching out, doing sweet FA, and soaking up the good vibes.
