Hello to all, and welcome to The Brewers Barn, the southernmost homebrew retail outlet in the world, and welcome to the wonderful world of crafting your own beer, wine, spirits, or liqueurs. My name is Pete Sayers, and I have been in this wonderful business for over 25 years. During that time I have made it my task to keep abreast of all the latest developments in both supplies and equipment. I ha

ve also developed my own “Single Malt” style whisky flavor. It has been a fascinating time, and I have met people from all over the world. I carry everything required for you to brew your own beers, wines, spirits, and liqueurs, at a fraction of the normal retail cost. Plus it is an intriguing hobby, one which has the added bonus of producing a very “consumable” tipple as an end product. I source my stock from all over the world, guaranteeing the best in quality products, and equipment. We here in New Zealand are fortunate enough to be allowed to quite legally distill our own spirits, in our homes, for our own consumption. So, for the last 25 years, I have specialized in home distilled spirits. Over the years I have experimented with still designs, and have produced a few “different” models.

It is with a great sadness that i am selling/closing the shop. On the 15th March i will have been here 30 years, and i turn 70 in July this year. My body is getting older, and issues are cropping up, and i really need to retire. Hopefully the shop will sell. Anybody with a working knowledge of Home Brewing Beer, Wine, and Spirits, who also has a very good knowledge of "Online Selling" will do very well here, they could realisticly double, triple, maybe even quadruple the turn over.If you have anyone in mind, please email me at [email protected]

Just wee heads up re a new product for Xmas.Still Spirits have released a new Icon Liqueur flavour "Chocolate Rum" . One of my customers tried it some where, and reckoned it was "To Die For", in fact he loved it so much i got some down in the last order, and have 5 only left. get in and try one for Xmas

A few of the Spirits Unlimited Ltd range of Liqueur flavours. These guys were the originators of Home Distilling and it is them we have to thank for our neat little hobbie, they have been around for over 30 years. In fact, i was selling their stills for about 3 years before it became legal in NZ. Apparently the Port is rather good, i have a couple of older gentlemen who are whitebaiters, and they go through quite a few of these every season, just sitting round watching and sipping.

CCCs. or Copper Catalytic Converter. What these things do is to react with the Sulphates (that are naturally produced during Fermentation), by converting them into odourless, tasteless, compounds. By inserting them up into the base of the column, thus placing them in the direct path of our alcohol vapors as the pass up through our column. Starting to clean our spirits as they are being produced.
