Our multi award-winning restaurant offers top-quality, modern New Zealand cuisine, presented in an informal setting. It’s the place to enjoy when looking for a memorable restaurant experience or when you want to entertain visitors. Our team have created a favorite destination for locals over the last sixteen years, with an eclectic environment that boasts paper on the tables and cutting-edge cuisine on the plate. Bookings are advisable as we are full most nights. In November 2011 we launched our new, exciting addition “The Astro Lounge” garden bar for casual food and drinks. From Thursday through Sunday midday till late. You can enjoy beer on tap, Astrolabe wines and all the regular favorites, that “The Gas” is known for. Space dogs (spicy lamb sausages), beer battered fish, oysters and Astro Wings and platters are the type of casual food for you to enjoy. Hidden away amongst the mature trees and shrubbery, a lovely sheltered lounge and sunny garden (except when it’s raining) awaits you. No bookings necessary, but we will take group enquiries. Hours:
