It is a free-form dance practice where participants can gather to dance to music without the need of following the instructions of a leader. In Ecstatic Dance the music is the leader and participants are free to weave their way through the different soundscapes.

It's like a dance club... but without the shoes, phones, spectators, booze, smoke or drugs... it's a guaranteed evening of REALLY

good music that moves you in ways you didn't know you could! It's a dance floor for 2 hours only... where you can be free to dance deep without inhibition or interruption. Expect epic peaks & deep warm depths... finished off with a mini sound healing meditation. Ecstatic Dance is fast becoming the new trend of "conscìous clubbing", an energetically primed & clear space where inhibitions are lost and soul family is found. The dance is self guided, so all you have to do is follow the music or let the music guide you. After a "warm-up" set to help you center and stretch, an opening welcome happens near 7:20pm. Around 8.50pm you melt to the floor for a relaxation with mini gong bath. Before the space closes, we gather in a circle with the forum to share (or not) your experience and observations. Price: $15 - $25

Location: first Saturday of the month is always at The Bridge, South Brighton. See event details for the locations of all other dances. Bring a friend, bring a date, bring your family & let's boogie. no drugs

If you still want to join us, the ticket portal is open until 1pm today. This is so we have a bit of time to prep for the cacao. Those of you who are planning to decide last minute - we will be having door sales - $30, but will not include cacao. Doors open at 5.50pm - for a 6.20 kick off.

The Story Behind Ecstatic Dance Massive

There was a time when our weekly dances were struggling. Numbers were low, and someone shared something that stuck with me: they loved dancing, but when only a handful of people showed up, it felt awkward. The magic that comes from a full dance floor; the sense of connection, energy and shared experience was harder to find.

At the same time, we were carrying a dream. We wanted to create something bigger than a weekly dance. We imagined a mini festival: a space where community, music, movement and transformation could come together on a larger scale.

Ecstatic Dance Massive was born at the intersection of those two realities.

It was a way to create the vibrant, welcoming atmosphere people were longing for. It gave me the opportunity to gain experience running larger events and to bring others into the vision... people like Jussy, Jeff and Ngawai, and a set up crew - whose involvement helped shape what Massive would become.

There was also a practical side. Moving from weekly to fortnightly dances meant finding a more sustainable model, one that could help balance the financial realities of keeping the community thriving.

What started as a response to a challenge became something much more: a chance to dream bigger, gather more people together and create the kind of dance experience that reminds us why we come in the first place - to connect, to move and to feel part of something larger than ourselves.
