Your desk lunch could never. 🥟

Weekday, 11am–3pm — that's yum cha o'clock at Midnight Shanghai. Steamer baskets of Mushroom & Edamame Dumplings, a bowl of Wonton Soup, Golden Sand Cauliflower if you're sharing. Order in waves, eat properly, and you're back at your desk before anyone notices you left the building.

No bookings needed for a table of two or three — just come up the stairs at Riverside Market. Same food, same balcony, none of the after-5pm crowd.

Saturday's for showing up at Midnight Shanghai with the whole crew — shared plates down the middle of the table, cocktails all round, and the balcony if the sun's out. Order a few rounds of Golden Sand Cauliflower and Mushroom & Edamame Dumplings, and let everyone graze at their own pace.

Some drinks just taste better with a river view. 🐼

Say hello to Po's Paradise Punch — Malibu coconut, peach, pineapple and lime, served (of course) in a little panda cup. Tropical, sweet and a bit cheeky, it's made for our balcony with the afternoon sun on the water.

30 seats, one view, zero rush. Happy Hour, a catch-up, or a "we've earned this" Friday — the balcony's calling.

The vegetarian dish that quietly converts everyone else at the table. 🌿

Golden Sand Cauliflower — florets fried until golden and shatter-crisp, tossed in a creamy gochujang mayo with pickled red onion and micro herbs. Sweet, savoury and crunchy all at once, it's the one the whole table keeps reaching back for.

A Chef's Choice, and very happy next to a fruity cocktail like the Crouching Tiger (feijoa vodka, melon, lychee, apple). Proof that "vegetarian" and "best thing on the table" can absolutely be the same dish.

Sunlight, a bamboo steamer, and dumplings the colour of jade. 🥟

Our Mushroom & Edamame Dumplings have spinach folded straight into the wrapper — that's where the green comes from — pleated by hand and steamed to order. Light, fresh, and happily vegan.

Pair them with a Crouching Tiger (feijoa vodka, melon, lychee, apple) for something refreshing and fruity, and you've got the perfect all-day yum cha moment — noon or 9pm, we're open either way.

Our Hong Kong Egg Tarts are baked fresh to order — no trays sitting under a heat lamp. Give it 10–20 minutes and you get a shell that shatters like glass around silky, just-set custard, still warm when it lands.

It's her birthday on a Wednesday, and honestly that's the good news 🎤

Our Friday and Saturday rooms tend to get booked out weeks ahead, but if you can do a Sunday through Thursday there's usually a room going this week. Private room, full song list, and just $20 an hour midweek. If it's your birthday, the first hour's on us (ID required, minimum spend applies).
