This sweet building has seen a few reincarnations over her 155 years. Initially a general store for a thriving gold mining community in the 1870s, it then became the official communication hub for the valley in the 1880s (run by a 14 year old postmaster no less), and in later years housed a collection of relics from the gold rush era.⁠
