EXCITING NEWS!

Brenda, Mark & WFD - 2 new albums

MARK LAURENT & BRENDA LIDDIARD

At the end of 2024 Brenda and I put together a CD for our upcoming national concert tour. I've finally got around to uploading it to Bandcamp. There are 20 tracks - half of which are remasters from albums we've released over the years, and the other half new songs or updated versions of songs which only ever came out as demos or on cassette. Please have a listen and tell us what you think - we feel it's a pretty good collection. You can listen or download if you'd like to - either individual tracks or the whole album.

THE TROUBLE WITH REALITY / WFD

It's only taken 25 years for WFD (the band formerly known as Waiting for Donald) to put together a second album. After our first CD (2001) we met for a series of recording sessions in various locations, but life and the tyranny of distance — we live at opposite ends of the island — got in the way. Recently we revisited the archives and realised that some rather good things had happened, especially around 2004-5. All the tracks on The Trouble With Reality are improvised in the moment, and the music is more ambient and unstructured than the first album as a result, but it feels alive to us: we hope you feel it too.

For those of you who may not be familiar yet with WFD, we're a 4 piece, spontaneous insturmental band;

Robbie Duncan - guitars, studio engineer

Chris Prtice - percussion

Brenda Liddiard - mandolin

Mark Laurent - guitars, Rowan lute.

THE TROUBLE WITH REALITY is also available (within Aotearoa / New Zealand) as a physical CD. Please contact us for details. It's likely that we'll also do a short run of MARK LAURENT & BRENDA LIDDIARD later this year
