Akaroa Yacht Club Inc

Akaroa Yacht Club Inc Akaroa sailing club Welcome to the Akaroa Yacht Club official web site.

We are a small but busy and innovative club catering for cruising and racing yachts as well as launches and power boats. Now with the amalgamation of the Akaroa Cruising Club and the Akaroa Sailing Club to form the Akaroa Yacht Club we have a youth/dinghy sailing division operating from the boatshed premises a short walk along the waterfront from the yacht club premises, which are situated on the

water on the western end of Akaroa Village next to Akaroa's famous lighthouse. We have a functional and user friendly clubhouse complete with large deck areas and a long jetty for club members to utilize especially during the busy racing season from October through until early June. The club has three tiers of membership, from active to social, family and youth, and all are encouraged to enjoy the club's facilities with visitors especially welcome whenever the clubrooms are open. On race days the licensed bar is always open, sometimes with the added bonus of hot food being available, and the club is very active in regularly holding social occasions and after race bbq's. Informality is the keyword for the operation of the club with accent on sailing, cruising and socialising. Come sailing, come cruising on the harbour, come to Akaroa, come to the Akaroa Yacht Club you are always welcome!

What a cracking way to finish the Black Cat Series.
Nine boats out there, three quick-fire sprints, and a gusty nor’wester keeping everyone on their toes — the photos pretty much say it all. Plenty of laughs, a bit of chaos, and a great day on the water.

Big congrats to Transition for taking out the series.

If this is how the season’s starting, it’s going to be a fun one.
