— Last weekend we were honoured to play at Norske Kulturarrangører (NKA) Arrangørkonferansen 2026 in Kristiansand, this event was Friday night at Kunstsilo Kunstsilo — DJ Baby D**e, Karmaklubb* presents.
Thank you for inviting! Such a pleasure. And a meeting spot for so many dear friends, colleagues, new friends, and faces to recognise and smile to when we’ll meet again.

— Dear everyone, this happened 5 days ago: A proper theatre show! Context: After 1 year travelling with the stage art programme 'Moving Identities' in Europe, a few months went by before the first show back home: Abjectified Project's 'Overture' at Centralteatret, Oslo Nye Teater, followed by a loooooong artist talk at Teaterkjeller'n.

With heritage from alternative drag tradition, horror films, abject art and affect theory, q***r bodies are highlighted in a universe where the goal is to take control of what many in society still consider repulsive to this day: being q***r.

— Wedneday, 21 October is the day! Abjectified Project's 'Overture' at Centralteatret, Oslo Nye Teater — a visceral performance where theater, dance, and abject drag art come together to create a fusion of q***r performance! This work embraces disgust, fear, and fascination to challenge the ideas of beauty, normality and what the q***r body represents. ‘The abject’ plays on emotions such as repulsion, shock, and nausea, and problematizes what is associated with beauty versus what is considered ugly. With heritage from alternative drag tradition, horror films, abject art and affect theory, q***r bodies are highlighted in a universe where the goal is to take control of what many in society still consider repulsive to this day: being q***r.

Context: As part of our Week 40 residency in Ålesund, we moved our office to Mottaket and took part in / hosted several events — a redux from 2025. The studio became a lavender gem during the night, and the green Claw kept it lit, too. Besides, the big screen projector keep looping for about 120 hours — for you to wake up to, and watch in the darkness. Juicy q***rness. For this post: Add snacks, and Q&A.

— One week ago, we arrived back in the south after a residency in Ålesund from late September to beginning of October.
It has become a tradition, moving our office to Mottaket and Aggregat kunstnerfellesskap, inviting to conversations and presentations during these days — and hopefully contribute to a q***r oriented focus uniting local as well as visiting forces. Besides: We kept the light installation/scenography/video looping for about 120 hours in a row, making the residency a project running night and day, making Mottaket into a lilac 'gem'.

🔮 Part of the plot, was also collaborating with Ytre Kunstfagskole, and this time we had the honour being part of 'Ytringskveld' on art and activism, sharing panel with artists Pil Ulheim, Karin Augusta Nogva, and Trine Røssevold, moderator and principal at Ytre kunstfagskole. Much gratitude!! It was also a big surprise with such a crowd on a Monday night ... Thank you all so much!!!

🔮 Thursday, 1 October at 'Torsdagsscene' we once again had a special visit by Jens Martin Hartvedt Arvesen of Abjectified Project featuring an artist talk and conversation, incl. presenting the upcoming show 'Ouverture' at Oslo Nye Teater (*** NB: 21 October!!!) Jens Martin joining has become a tradition, too! ❤ Thank you for representing the team and all the effort!

🔮 Saturday, 3 October we did our very local live screening of ‘Claimed Space / Slow Dance XR’, a VR research project with an multidiciplinary feminist artistic team, and partners Kristiania and Aavistus Festival for audiovisual arts & VJ culture 2026, Helsinki, Finland, funded by Nordisk Kulturfond ( > Karmaklubb dot com for more details about the project and all credits!)

Thank you, Cecilie Hole at Mottaket for assisting all week — even with plants (incl. bringing them from home); Christian B. von Krogh photos and tech; Trine Isaksen Muriaas, and the rest of the Mottaket team at Aggregat. Marielle Sørhaug and Trine Røssevold for inviting; Monica Gjendem & Co. for fixing our housing, Sjømanns Kvile; Ivan Dujmusic for helping out with paint and other things when needed, and just for being there; everyone dropping by during the week — or wanting to do so; we have some threads to follow up in 2027 — spring, summer, fall ...? — when we will be back in town. O M G. — Just received a sequence when eminent Highness Frida Marida was singing and Hanne Os Wold dancing together with everyone showing up at last night’s ‘Claimed Space / Slow Dance XR’ LIVE in Oslo. The performance (duration ca. 40 min) was simultaneously at two sites: Oslo, Norway — this — and Aavistus Biennial for audiovisual arts & VJ culture 2026, ‘Attention, please!’ in Helsinki + VR, worldwide. About 40+ showed up in Oslo, 60–70 in Helsinki, about 20 users and screenings from online. Thank you so much for being part of this MAGIC …!!!!! 💜🔮
