Fanou Torracinta Quartet + guest Fiona Monbet
Djangofestivalen 2026
The Fanou Torracinta Quartet with guest Fiona Monbet delivered an evening of dazzling jazz manouche that felt both rooted and adventurous, with every solo charged with lyricism and fire. Corsican guitarist Fanou Torracinta led with his trademark blend of Django-inspired swing and modern harmonic daring, while violinist Fiona Monbet brought a singing, orchestral touch to the frontline, moving effortlessly between burning lines and delicate, folk‑tinged colors.
At the piano, Bastien Brison added luminous voicings and agile swing, framing the melodies with elegance and drive. Benji Winterstein’s razor‑sharp rhythm guitar created the classic manouche engine beneath it all, locking in perfectly with Édouard Pennes’ warm, singing double bass, whose sound and time anchored the group from the first chorus to the last.

Sébastien Giniaux & Joris Viquesnel Duo
Djangofestivalen 2026
The concert by Sébastien Giniaux & Joris Viquesnel Duo was a modern, fresh and inventive journey that felt playful, surprising and deeply free. You could hear two old musical friends at work, constantly sparking new ideas off each other and leaping with ease from intimate lyricism to bursts of wild energy.
For more than twenty years they have built a shared musical language that lets them move naturally from Django Reinhardt’s jazz to Balkan melodies, classical colours, chanson and echoes of African music, weaving all these influences into Sébastien’s original compositions. Their current project, “In The Arms Of Windmills”, grows out of this long complicity: like Don Quixote and Sancho Panza with guitars, they stand together against the ever more uniform windmills of commercial music, choosing instead risk, imagination and the joy of true musical conversation on stage.

Gustav Skaaret Trio ft. Renaud Crols delivered a truly fantastic performance - fresh, fearless and deeply rooted in the Django spirit. Together they create close-up string magic: fiery solos, elegant melodies and bold interaction that feels both timeless and completely of today. It is the kind of band you walk away from inspired, smiling and already checking when you can hear them again.
