Cocktail works to help to improve the lives and opportunities of LGBT asylum seekers and refugees in the Netherlands Zo hopen we een verschil te maken.

Het project Cocktail is ontstaan in het voorjaar van 2014. Met steun van COC Nederland's campagne ''Pink Security'' en geïnspireerd door soortgelijke projecten van andere COC-lidverenigingen heeft COC Limburg een maatjesproject opgezet voor mensen die hun land zijn ontvlucht omdat ze lesbisch, homo, bi of transgender zijn, in veel landen in de wereld is dat namelijk nog strafbaar en/of in strijd m

et de norm. Als asielzoeker in Nederland komen deze mensen opnieuw problemen tegen; eenzaamheid, depressies, een sociaal isolement en opnieuw homofobie. Het zijn dan ook deze problemen waar we met ons project iets aan proberen te veranderen. We organiseren maatjescontact tussen nieuwkomers en vrijwilligers en organiseren regelmatig activiteiten voor de hele groep. English:
Cocktail works to improve the lives and opportunities of LGBT asylum seekers in the Netherlands by coordinating social activities, sharing information about health and legal issues, and fostering platforms for the exchange of ideas and the building of friendships. The Cocktail project started early 2014. With the support of COC-Netherlands' campaign "Pink Security" COC-Limburg has started a buddy-project for people who fled their country because they are le***an, gay, bi or transgender because this is not acceptable or even illegal in their country. As asylum-seeker these people face new challenges; loneliness, depression, social isolation en again homophobia. These are the things we try to change with our project. We organize buddy-contact between newcomers and volunteers and regularly organize activities for the whole group. This way we hope to make a difference.

On the 7th of June we have a Cocktail Happy Stones workshop in café Rosé. This will be from 17 o'clock till 21 o'clock. The address will be Bogaardenstraat 43, 6211SN in Maastricht.

Who is a really good painter and what creation will you make this time?

Of course there will also be some food and drinks.

During this event we will have a Pubquiz that consists of 3 rounds of questions. Come test your knowledge.

On the 1st of March we have a meet the GGD Meeting in Café Rosé. The address is Bogaardenstraat 37A, 6211 SN Maastricht. It starts at 4 PM and ends at 8 PM. Please be on time.

During this event you will meet GGD Zuid-Limburg. You will learn the services they can provide for you as q***r refugees and status holders. We will also enjoy some fingerfood together🫔

As stated please be on time since the people of the GGD will be there at 4 PM and are there especially for you.
