Join us on Sunday the 19th of April for an exclusive screening!

We are working together with Palestinian filmmaker and Journalist Yousef Alhelou to showcase his unique personal film: The Phoenix of Gaza.

Before October 8th 2023, Yousef recorded what has become some of the last footage of Gaza before the war.

These unique and personal records of Gaza now serve as a valuable archive of the colossal scale of the chaos, suffering and destruction.

We want to provide the opportunity to view this film and also to discuss the film and topic with Yousef himself!

If you are interested and would like to know more about the film, you can find more information and tickets via this link: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/thephoenixofgaza/2138464

Here's to a long life and a merry one. A quick death and an easy one. A pretty girl and
an honest one. A cold beer and another one! Sláinte!
Sláinte, a drinking toast used in Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man, means health. It
would be the equivalent of saying cheers in English.
You can impress our Irish bartenders with this vocabulary. And if you are feeling brave,
you could also say ´Sláinte is táinte´(health and wealth).
Déan cuimhne, is fearr gaeilge briste ná béarla cliste! (Remember, broken irish is better
than perfect english)

Did you know that the Irish word for whiskey, ´Uisce beatha’, literally translates to ´water
of life´?
The first written record of Irish whiskey was in the Annals of Clonmacnoise in 1405. It is
believed to be even older than this. Irish monks in the early middle ages, around the
12th century, modified the european techniques of distilling perfumes to make a
drinkable spirit that they called Uisce beatha. Back in the day it would have tasted very
different to the typical whiskey taste that we think of today, it would have been more
similar to the Irish mist.
We have a nice selection of Irish, Scottish and American whiskeys available to try in
O´Ḿalley´s, as well as Irish mist. Feel free to ask the bartender for advice on which water
of life to choose.
