Chemtrix offers a total Flow Chemistry concept, with the Chemtrix portfolio covering the total process from R&D (Labtrix® Start and Labtrix) to production (Plantrix®). Chemtrix headquarters are located in Geleen, The Netherlands and the Chemical Department is located at the University of Hull, United Kingdom. Chemtrix also has an establishment in Northern America, Chemtrix USA, which allows us to
build and maintain relationships with clients in this important market, supporting them with efficient purchasing and product delivery along with local technical support and customer service. The Labtrix® Start system is a manual, standardized, “plug-and-play” platform for laboratory based optimization of reactions within glass micro reactors. It can be used to perform syntheses at temperatures ranging from -15C to +195C and under pressures of up to 25 bar. Labtrix® Start can be used to access forbidden chemistry and to evaluate many reaction parameters in a short period of time, employing very little raw material. Labtrix® Start is a low risk, cost-effective way to introduce Flow Chemistry within your company or research department. The Labtrix® system is a fully automated, standardized “plug and play” platform for laboratory based reaction screening, optimization and kinetic data determinations using Flow Chemistry. Labtrix® can be used to perform synthesis at temperatures ranging from -15°C to +195°C and at pressures of up to 25 bar. The auto sampling and data-logging functions make it possible to leave the system running unattended. Labtrix® can be used to evaluate many reaction parameters in a short period of time, employing very little raw material. With these systems, Chemtrix BV supply a series of standard glass micro reactors, configured for use within our Labtrix S1® and Labtrix Start® micro reactor development apparatus. A series of reactor volumes (1, 5 and 10 ul) and mixer types (T- or SOR-2) are available to enable the facile evaluation of reaction time and temperature effects. A new addition to the reactor portfolio is the ’20 ul’ micro reactor (SOR-2 mixer), which is suitable for the production of mg-quantities of material or the investigation of longer reaction times. Plantrix® is the flexible method development platform, using glass meso reactors. This fully flexible system offers reaction times ranging from 0.96 to 2190s. Previously forbidden chemistries can now safely be performed due to excellent heat transfer. By increasing the number of reactors , desired production capacities can be reached. The reactors supplied with Plantrix® have a volume of 0.8 and/or 6.5 ml. The reactors are based on Chemtrix’ SOR principle, providing excellent mixing. Depending on the reactor set-up, Plantrix’ capacities range from 29g to 14.4kg day⁻¹ . The flexible reactor holder makes it possible to adjust the system capacity just by adding or removing reactors. Due to this flexible reactor holder, the Plantrix platform enables users to use a variety of configurations in one module. In addition, Chemtrix offers chemical development and consultancy, ensuring success with the implementation of this technology. The Chemtrix platform allows rapid scale up, eliminating technical and financial risks.
