OPEN CALL 🔔 SCALA IS LOOKING FOR ENGLISH SPEAKING ACTORS ‼️
For our new Scala production ‘GO AWAY’, written by Diederik Rep and directed by Penny Vos, we are looking for two professional actors (M/X), playing age 40-55, who speak native or accent-free English.
📖 GO AWAY is a short, deeply human play about grief, family and everything we are unable to say. Chris has lost his partner, Sam. His brother Andy tries to help him, but the tension between them only continues to grow. Two brothers who know each other inside out, yet struggle to say what is really going on. A blend of humor, relatable family dynamics and heartfelt emotion.
🌟 CHRIS – M/X, playing age 40-55
Chris has lost his partner, Sam. He is intelligent, sensitive, sharp and sometimes explosive. He keeps a lot inside and struggles to express what he truly needs. We are looking for an actor with naturalistic acting and emotional depth.
🌟 ANDY – M/X, playing age 40-55
Andy is Chris’ older brother. He is practical, direct and used to solving problems. He wants to help Chris, but doesn’t really know how. Warm, funny, stubborn and sometimes irritating. We are looking for an actor with naturalistic acting, comedic timing, and a strong presence.
🗓️ Auditions will take place Monday November 9th during the day. You need to be available for rehearsals in February 2027 (exact dates to be arranged), and for evening performances on all Fridays in March 2027. The location is Scala (Van Hallstraat 286, Amsterdam).
🌟🫵 Are you interested, available, and do you match the profile? Then please send your CV no later than October 19th to [email protected]. You will hear from us on October 22nd at the latest. Please include a short clip (video or audio) showcasing your English-speaking skills. We look forward to receiving your application! And if you know someone who would be a perfect fit, sharing this is greatly appreciated! ❣️
