Comedy Matters is an Amsterdam-based stand-up comedy show. Every last Thursday of the month, we gather comedians all over the world to get your doses of laughter! We guarantee you a fantastic line-up with pro MC, experienced & newbie comedians, and stunning headliner!
And yes, we are in the dead center of Amsterdam! A chill and cozy venue - Marionetten Theater, so you can get your best comedy experience in the well-known Red Light District!
We believe a good laugh heals lots of hurts. That’s why every month, Comedy Matters donates most of our profits to IamStrawless, a city-wide campaign striving for a plastic-free Amsterdam. This means every time you make a purchase at Comedy Matters, you are making our earth a better place.
We also offer an 8-week Stand-up comedy course for beginners. While having fun together, we help you get out of your comfort zone, spice up your public speaking skills, and run you through all the timing and delivery techniques, comedy writing devices and what it takes to get a comedian on stage!
