A Final Goodbye….

Dear friends, former customers, band mates, brief acquaintances, etc. This comes as my final goodbye to you all on my forthcoming departure from Amsterdam... for good.

And please accept my apologies if you get this post two or three times. For some reason I have two pages, I will be posting as Mark Hodson and Mr Pulp and Jet Lounge... just to make sure I get a hold of everyone I’ve ever fu***ng met here in Holland.

So yeah, I heading back to Southern California to take care of my mom and to once again enjoy some really good Mexican food. Oh yeah, and the weather is fu***ng great, too.

I’ve had a blast here in Amsterdam for the last 11 years and have been truly privileged to meet the majority of you...and not a few of you. You know who you are. I’ve suffered through the ups and downs of owning a restaurant and a bar and I don’t have one single regret. I’ve meet some great people, fell in love head over heels, crashed ad burned, played music in an amazing band, farted about in another band, met a lot of fantastic musicians (and some singer/songwriters, too) :-) And rocked the s**t out of this town in many, many ways. And I truly hope that I’ve contributed something positive to the music scene and to the nightlife scene and to the cocktail scene here in Amsterdam. At least I did my best to.

So from the bottom of my heart, “Thank you.” It’s been a fu***ng blast and overall I had an amazing time. Thanks to everyone who made Jet Lounge a success and thanks for all of your support, your good wishes and your hard earned cash. Take care and be safe and as I always said at the end of the night at Jet Lounge….

Not exactly a Jet Lounge event, but you can't blame me for trying. Next Thursday, May 15th at 22:00 uur. My new band, Mister Pulp, live @ Cafe Sound Garden. Also on the bill, DJ Gideon from the old Jet Lounge turntables. Just like old times. Hope to see some familiar faces in the crowd.

Okay, I almost had the DJ rig sold, but my mate backed out due to lack of storage space.

So the whole thing is still for sale. Any takers? 1000 euros.

Otherwise, I'm going to break it up and start selling it piece by piece. But it'd be a shame to tear up the whole package. Won't someone save a poor, malnourished DJ rig before I have to put it to sleep?

It's a very sad day, but I have announce the final closing of Jet Lounge, as of Wednesday, September 11th.

Due to personal reasons as well as troubling financial problems, I am just not able to continue on in business.

My fondest thanks to all of you who have stuck by me over the last few years. It's been a fu***ng blast. Simple as that.
