Hi Everyone,

We miss you! You are the best customers & we would like to thank you for all your kind messages! We hope you are all doing well given the circumstances.

Now we are asking you for help & support for our Dear Sister ‘Cherlane Meijnaar’ who is the proud founder of Amsterdam’s first CURLY BEAUTY SUPPLY store ‘Melanin Beauty Cosmetics’ in the city center. She started her business 3 years ago at Amsterdam Central Station.

Cherlane has always worked hard & owning her own business was her dream. As she has a passion for beauty & hair, she started this concept, because women & men with textured hair didn’t have a central space to be helped within their haircare needs.

And then the pandemic came... Since mostly depending on people who travel - for work or other activities as well tourists, the store really had a hard time despite of being an essential store and allowed to remain open.

We are still suprised by how .nl has been able to survive all these lockdowns, since all these changes started right after the store moved to a bigger location where a lot of investments were made. The past 3 years, Cherlane (the founder) has been able to grow this into a place where people from all walks, cultures, with all textures and those from the LGBTQ+ community feel free and safe to transform into who they truly are.

This year Melanin Beauty Cosmetics welcomed more women of color to join forces, to grow together & represent underrepresented beauty narratives on a greater platform. One of the collaborations has been the launch of the HAIRBRAIDERSCLUB with Nsimba Valene. And together they have incredible future plans to further shape this inclusive beauty space together.

Melanin Beauty Cosmetics is important for our communities to strengthen each other. We hope with this crowdfunding campaign, that we can all help her through this pandemic, so she doesn’t have to close her doors. Let's help Melanin Beauty Cosmetics & The Hair Braiders Club to continue their businesses & welcoming their clients. Every bit helps! LINK IN BIO!

We hope you are doing well.

As you might have noticed, we are not open at Central Station in Amsterdam anymore.
We are sorry to announce that we are officially closed at this location.

We are hoping to come back in the future! Maybe on a different location, but for sure in a different form.

You are all amazing! It was such a pleasure getting to know each one of you and serve you our toasties. We truly appreciate and would like to thank each one of you for your trust, support and love! ❤️
