JAZZVILLE MEETS PRAISEVILLE!
THE SECULAR MEETS SACRED
For decades, this space has been more than walls.
It began as Jazzville — a home for music, culture, and legends.
It became Praiseville — a place of worship and gathering.
And today, it lives as The Secret Place / Lydia’s Gardens — a sanctuary for creatives.
Now, due to circumstances beyond our control, this space has been sold and will soon cease to exist.
Before it disappears, we are creating one final moment:
“One Last Tango at Jazzville” — Saturday, April 25th 2026
A closing event + documentary capturing its history, stories, and impact.
WHY THIS MATTERS
This is not just a building.
It is a cultural landmark, a creative sanctuary, and a living archive of Nigerian stories.
We cannot let it disappear without honoring what it has meant to so many.

Abstain from every form of evil.
The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.

Gather together, yes, gather, O shameless nation, before the decree takes effect —before the day passes away like chaff— before there comes upon you the burning anger of the Lord, before there comes upon you the day of the anger of the Lord. All the things we hold so dear and so tenaciously to are only relevant on this side of existence.
Money, possessions, culture, traditions, beliefs; intellectual abilities et al and all that we think we own, have, know, or appear to, are totally inconsequential and irrelevant where we eventually end up in ‘Eternity’.
We don’t focus on the things that can be seen but on the things that can’t be seen. The things that can be seen don’t last, but the things that can’t be seen are eternal.
For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?
They covet fields and seize them, and houses, and take them away; they oppress a man and his house, a man and his inheritance.
Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”
But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.
For when he dies, he will carry nothing away; his glory will not go down after him.
I have seen everything that is done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and a striving after wind.

Who is on the Lord's side? Come to me.

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

For in these things I delight, declares The Lord.”

In the past, people did not understand God, and he ignored this [or God overlooked such times of ignorance]. But now, God ·tells [commands] all people in the world to ·change their hearts and lives [repent]. [L Because] God has ·set [fixed; established] a day that he will judge all the world with ·fairness [righteousness], by the man he ·chose [appointed] long ago. And God has ·proved [or given assurance of] this to everyone by raising That Man from the dead!

So it is as the Holy Spirit says:
“Today ·listen to what he says [L if you hear his voice…].
Do not ·be stubborn [L harden your hearts] as in the past when you turned against God [L as in the rebellion; when you tested God in the desert.

Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
