Update from Jon’s Guitar Workshop

Hi everyone, just wanna share a quick update.

Lately, we got two new team members joining us, one part timer and one trainee, to help out around the workshop.

Expanding the team is something I’ve been considering for a while, mainly to speed up the queue and lighten the load a bit.

But I know lah, some of you might be thinking, “Eh, will the quality drop or not?” Honestly, I also think the same sometimes.

That’s why I’ve made it very clear, every single guitar will still go through me before it’s collected. Final check, touch-up, tuning, all done by me to make sure it meets the standard you all know and expect from Jon’s Guitar Workshop.

The team helps me with basic setups and general work, but all the heavy stuff like repair, refret, refinishing, rewiring, those are still handled by me personally. No shortcuts.

Of course, we’re all human. Mistakes can happen. But I’m doing everything I can to make sure we keep the quality high and consistent. Your trust means a lot to me, and I don’t take that lightly.

Thanks so much for all the support. Appreciate each and every one of you for sticking with us through thick and thin. We’ll keep doing our best to serve you better.

This is a custom made guitar in White grey with 2 Humbucker that can split into single coil.
Roasted maple neck with stainless steel fret and rounded frets end.
Alder body.
Rounded neck joint for comfortable at higher frets playing. More cavity at the tremolo to allow more room to dive.
Hand wound pickup based on dimarzio pickup . Sounds great. Cts pot, push push pot for split. Copper shielding. Spoke wheel truss rod.
Locking tuner
Tusq nut
Aluminum pickguard.
GF japan tremolo with brass block, great sustain.

All alignment are perfect and all calculation are correctly implement, strings all are at the exact spacing. It's my most happy custom I've ever made.

I'm offering a unique opportunity for someone passionate about guitars to learn the art of guitar setup and repair through a structured, 3-month FREE training program. This is perfect for someone who wants to gain real hands-on experience and potentially build a career in guitar maintenance and tech work.

What’s Included:
Free training (no fees)
Guided, step-by-step learning

Training Schedule (Week-by-Week):

Month 1: Guitar Setup Fundamentals
Week 1: Electric guitar setup – adjusting truss rod, action, intonation, pickup height.
Week 2: Acoustic guitar setup – saddle, nut, neck relief, string action.
Week 3: Bass guitar setup – scale length considerations, action, electronics.
Week 4: Classical guitar setup – nylon strings, bridge and nut shaping.

Month 2: Intermediate Repair & Technical Skills
Week 5: Fret leveling, crowning & polishing.
Week 6: Basic wiring – soldering, jack/pot replacement, pickup installation.
Week 7: Guitar cleaning, polishing, and maintenance best practices.
Week 8: Wiring repairs – fixing input jacks, output issues, loose wires. Noise issue.

Month 3: Advanced Repairs & Evaluation
Week 9: Bridge repairs – re-gluing, saddle fitting, acoustic bridge work.
Week 10: Nut replacement, shaping and slotting.
Week 11: Crack repairs, minor woodwork, glue joints.
Week 12: Final review and skill assessment – we’ll evaluate your progress and discuss next steps, including potential paid work.

What I’m Looking For:
Someone committed, reliable, and eager to learn.
No experience needed – just passion and a willingness to put in the work.

Able to dedicate time consistently each week for training and practice.

After 3 Months: If you've shown skill and growth, we’ll transition into a paid working relationship based on the repair jobs you take on.
