Overlooking a magnificent marina, at approximately 2,000 square feet in size the pub offers the usual Finnegan’s welcome complete with al fresco outdoor waterfront seating, spacious dining areas, a pool table, stage, high ceiling, a long bar and wide windows taking in the soft rays of the Penang sun reflecting off the tranquil sea outside. In keeping with the seafront persona, the outlet displays not only the usual Irish themed décor but also imported nautical knick knacks handpicked by staff on their travels. The soft opening of FINNEGAN’S Straits Quay coincided with the opening of the Straits Quay development itself and was graced by members of the Penang Irish Association, staff of E&O Developments, Penang Tourism Board, Guinness Anchor Berhad and its associates, Single & Available Sdn Bhd and friends and family of staff coming from as far afield as Kuala Lumpur! The outlet is run by the personable Kabi who previously managed FINNEGAN’S Mid Valley and more recently The George and Dragon at Bangsar Shopping Centre before relocating to Penang.
