- An immersive Dayak clubbing experience
The legendary Afro-tech artist Djuma Soundsystem brings his acclaimed global event concept Iziki to Miri for the very first time.
As part of our art festival, Iziki offers an unusual and immersive take on the clubbing experience โ a night where music, storytelling, culture and ritual blends together.
Drawing inspiration from the rich folklore of the Orang Ulu peoples of Sarawak, we invite you into a world where modern tribal beats meets ancient rhythms, local traditions, stories, aesthetics and, above all; music.
The musical journey moves between traditional regional music and Izikis organic Afro-tech sound, delivered by the djs Kara and Danny,
For this special Miri edition, Djuma Soundsystem will perform alongside local sape musicians Adrian and Uncle Salomon, creating a live dialogue between contemporary electronic music and one of Borneoโs most distinctive traditional instruments, and the unmistakable voice of Sarawak through the sape.
But this is more than just a night of music. Through playful, interactive storytelling, you will become part of the journey โ helping to unlock chapters of forgotten folklore and discovering the stories, spirits and traditions of a land shaped by rivers, forests and generations of indigenous culture.
