A well earned rest from a packed Xmas Eve Dinner and Xmas Day lunch. many thanks for all the compliments but special praise to the chef and his team for a well done job. Last night, Diana Liu' s relaxing voice and rhythms were a breath of fresh air. Looking forward to seeing the much acclaimed Diah Gayatri perform on New Year's Eve. She is very highly sought after in South East Asia and has an extensive repertoire.

In the 20s and 30s, Jazz and Swing became the mainstay of the music world in Shanghai. Musicians from the world over came, infusing talent and rhythms with the melodies and music of China and Shanghai.
Shanghai was NOT the Paris of the East.
Quite the opposite, Paris was but a blur reflection of the dynamism, the hedonism and precariousness of life in the city that was Shanghai.

What a weekend. Alia
raised the ante with a stomping performance on Friday. The French speaking
community did turn up in numbers to support. Merci. Diana for her final
show this year on Sat and again, did wonderfully. She'll be back for CNY!!!

We've got Ben Manen and Jen on Wed from 930pm. They really get the place moving and Ben's voice has that unique quality. On Friday we have Alia back by popular demand and on Saturday it is Diana Liu.
