After an oversubscribed Troplong Mondot dinner, the next wine dinner features Bodega Abadia Retuerta from Ribera del Duero. This is a winery that sits at the highest quality echelons of this most famous and prestigious wine region in Spain. Ribera del Duero is known as the more muscular counterpart to Rioja, making dense, powerful yet balanced wines, due to its large diurnal temperature swings and warm days, perfect for quality wine making.

The Global Sales Manager, Mr Alvaro del Santo will guide us through a tasting of the age-worthy, powerful wines from this winery, including their single vineyard expressions of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, as well as their classic Tempranillo wine. Ratings of the wines are very impressive for all wines.

The dinner is paired with hearty dishes from our charcoal grill restaurant, Tucker & Co at TRX, matched by Chef Billy Phuah. The wines to be served:

Following on in the month of April is a return to the well-known confines of Bordeaux, in this case, the highly regarded 1er Grand Cru Classe St Emilion estate, Chateau Troplong Mondot

The representative of the winery, Mr Thibault Odent will guide us through the history and evolution of this storied right bank estate. In recent years the quality has never been higher and this will be evident in the wines, with the chateau being at the forefront of the new movement in Bordeaux towards more softness and elegance in their wines, through sensitive wine-making.

We will enjoy four vintages of the estate, the magisterial 2010, the vaunted 2015 as well as the more classical 2017 and 2018 vintages.

Hot on the heels of the collab dinner with Bidou is a highlight Wine Dinner of the Year, featuring our exclusive partner Champagne Jacquesson

Day, Date: Tuesday, 17th March 2026
Time: 7.00pm
Venue: Akar Dining, 109, Jalan Aminuddin Baki, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, 60000 Kuala Lumpur
Price: RM688++ per person

For those of you familiar with grower champagnes, this is one of the most prestigious producers in Avize, prime Chardonnay real estate. The wines show an unerring purity and delicacy yet layered, chalky and purely fruited.

This dinner is also a synergistic collaboration with the talented Aidan Low, chef owner of the newly minted 1-Michelin starred, Akar Dining . He has curated a special 8-course meal paired with the succession of champagnes that will be served.

We will have with us the representative of the winery, Mr Alexandre Garandel to guide us through the intricacies of the different plots and the wine-making. We will learn about the history behind the now iconic Manifesto 700, where the main house blend is given a series number, a focus on the very best expression of the blend from any particular vintage.

Lastly, Vintry together with the winery, this dinner is generously supported to ensure that it offers outstanding value for the wines that will be served (the two single vineyard wines are priced north of RM1,000, the Late-Disgorged at RM598 and the cuvee 747 at RM357).

Wishing everyone celebrating, a galloping fine year of the horse ahead! The first Vintry Wine Dinner of 2026 is a collaboration with Bidou recently minted Michelin Guide Opening of the Year in 2025. We have worked together to pair classic French wines with Bidou’s homage dishes to many culinary classics from the titans of French cooking.
