Being faster at one section vs successfully completing the entire ultra are two different things. With so many runners passes me at the most challenging section of descending from Liang, but eventually unable to complete the race tells the story behind every small decision made on tackling each mile at a time, and listen to the body to make adjustments to accept what the trails are throwing at you. When the going get tough- PROTECT THE FINISHING MATTER!

Muallim Ultra— Tough, Gruelling, Unforgettable.

A challenging race across varied road conditions and terrain, from moss-covered, wet mountain trails to rocky country roads. Every section came with its own set of challenges.

A race isn’t defined solely by how fast you finish. Sometimes, a slower finish is a testament to just how tough the race was — and how much it took to make it to the finish line.

16 hours and 45 minutes of battling 2400m elevation, relentless humidity, scorching heat, two rounds of rain, and muddy, slippery trails. Physically draining, mentally gruelling, and far from easy.

But here I am, still standing.

Not every race is about speed or chasing a personal best. Sometimes, it’s about enduring the conditions, overcoming the challenges, and REFUSING to give up when the going gets tough.

Proud to have made it to the finish line. One more battle fought, with many lesson learned.

Distilled- 1946; Bottled 2025.

N- The nose opens with vibrant, flowing top notes of tart lime peel and fragrantly earthy guava skins, quickly followed by subtle hints of mashed nuts. Initially clean yet heady, the aroma beautifully unfurls as it breathes, gradually revealing charming, lighter nuances of tropical fruits, crisp minerals, and delicate florals. (90/22)

P- The palate balances a dry, wood-sap structure with a gentle wave of natural sweetness and waxy across the mid-palate. Still surprisingly fresh at this age. Profound, yet approachable. (90/22)

F- Medium-long, remarkably gentle, and warming. The finish leaves a savory impression that remains incredibly inviting, constantly calling you back for another sip. (91/22)

B/B- 91/22

Weighted Rate- 90pt, +1 for an extra old distillate, +1 for the rarity.
