Dear Friends,

All good things must come to an end. Above Gastrobar has always been a shape-shifting entity, a mish mash of ideas finding its form, defining, refining, and redefining itself as time went by. Now it has reached a stage where it must shed its shell and take its next form. In 3 months, we will see a new reincarnation, with a new name, in Chinatown KL. Stay tuned!

As we approach our final day on October 31st, we want to take a moment to thank you for being part of our journey. Your support has meant the world to us.

Join us for one last meal and let’s celebrate all the moments we've shared. We hope to see you before we close our doors.

Grilled lobster with XO beurre blanc that is packed with flavours of dried scallop, lobster stock, lacto fermented chilli, accompanied by snow pea, jicama, and bei fong tong style crispy garlic. Made of Crazy Dreams

Speaking about crazy dreams, many have warned that starting a wine bar in Ipoh would be a challenge, the idea of a gastrobar be next to impossible, setting it up on a rooftop in a part of town that sees no life at night, a disaster waiting to happen. Then again, passion often runs ahead of reason. For the past year, passion has been our sustenance and reason for existence.
