In light of the unfortunate closure of the Mercurio Hotel, La Catrina Cantina will be hosting a benefit to support the staff in this difficult time. We will be hosting their Beers, Burgers, and Boys this Sunday at 4pm. A portion of the liquor sales will go to the Mercurio Hotel for their staff’s liquidation. Donations can also be made through the Casa Jojo Foundation using the following link. We hope that the community that Paul Crist has helped so much will come out and support his staff. It takes a village, and the great thing about Vallarta is the kindness, caring, and generosity of the people. One of my favorites on our menu. Our Reuben Sandwich made with in-house brined corned beef brisket, in-house fermented red cabbage sauerkraut, tangy Russian dressing (you guessed it, we make our own) on delicious, dark, toasted artisan rye. I ate half before it occurred to me to take a photo! 😅

But Jordon Carnegie, in this role at The Palm Cabaret and Bar, cannot be ignored! He presents this groundbreaking work with so much energy, passion, and talent, that I left the sold out opening night exhausted! In a good way! The show is an emotional roller coaster! It will leave you breathless at times, tearful at times, shocked at times. And Jordan accomplishes it all in 90 minutes of intense theatrical energy!

Yitzhak, a Jewish drag queen from Zagreb and Hedwig's abused, codependent, assistant/backup singer/husband played by Yoalli also stands out with a stunning voice and an emotional performance. And the band is amazing!
