Fare Well to Our Friend & Partner RICK, with all our Love.
We Will Miss You.

Richard (Rick) Dwayne Gilbert was born in Seattle, WA on July 25, 1945 and passed away January 29, 2023. Rick moved to Bellingham as a child and then attended Assumption and Bellingham High School. Rick moved to Seattle to attend University of Washington and was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. He loved the water and lived on Lake Whatcom, Lummi Island and Playa del Carmen Mexico.

His passion was racing sail boats, traveling the San Juans and hosting amazing parties on his boat, Obsession. Rick loved to ski and spent time living in Sun Valley, ID. Rick also played rugby for UW, Old Puget Sound Beach Club, the Chuckanut Bay Geoducks, and played a bit in Mexico.

Rick moved to Playa del Carmen about 20 years ago and worked as a developer and more recently as part owner of the internationally famous Zenzi Beach where he met many great friends. Rick was always very active and played and worked hard and enjoyed his life on the beach and water. In 2007, Rick met and then married the love of his life Margarita (Maggie) Garcia.

Rick is survived by his wife Maggie, his step children and their families Autumn (Tyler), Allyson (Dave), and Rudy. He was preceded in death by his parents Dolores and Lynn Gilbert, his sister Theresa, and his brother Jim. Rick was loved by many in both Washington and Playa del Carmen, and will be remembered for his laid back spirit, endless generosity, and lifelong loyalty to friends and family.

💚 Del 2 al 11 de Mayo a partir de las 7:30 am estaremos entregando más de 1,700 tortas de guisados a base de plantas y fruta a personas que se encuentran en situaciones de vulnerabilidad debido a la pandemia Covid-19.

🍌🍎🍐 Si gustas apoyarnos, puedes llevar fruta en esas mismas fechas y horarios.
