Why do we store our casks in a bonded warehouse?

After hand-filling a cask with new-make Benromach spirit, it then takes its place in one of our warehouses which maintain consistent temperatures ideal for maturing single malt whisky.

But these warehouses are not just there to keep our maturing whisky in the best atmosphere possible. They are also a legal requirement by HMRC as their regulations require all maturing whisky to be stored under bond.
