Quiote Mezcaleria is taking over Pueblo Viejo Restaurant Tequila Bar and Mezcaleria for a special mezcal tasting featuring five small-batch mezcals from our private collection.

Expect rare agaves, rare pours, good vibes, and plenty of mezcal stories straight from Oaxaca 🇲🇽

Maestro Emanuel Ramos needs no introduction. A third-generation maestro mezcalero and son of the legendary Víctor Ramos, Emanuel began working in the palenque at just 5 years old, helping his father and carrying on a tradition that has been passed down through generations.

Here is Emanuel cutting maguey Tequilana with his machete — just one of the many daily tasks at the palenque. From harvesting and roasting to fermentation and distillation, Emanuel is involved in every step of the journey.

This is mezcal made by hands, family and hard work.

High in the rugged limestone mountains of Santa Catarina Albarradas, Gustavo and his family harvest cucharilla (Dasylirion serratifolium) the old way, by hand, one plant at a time.

This wild polycarpic plant takes around 20–23 years to mature, growing slowly in harsh terrain before it is ready to be transformed. Every harvest means steep climbs, long days, and hard labor made possible with the help of his mules carrying the harvest down the mountain trails.

For over a decade, Gustavo and his family have been producing cucharilla, an exceptional spirit that is truly a must try.
