It’s official. it is with a heavy heart that we must inform you the Hotel Mar de Cortez will be closing effective August 1, 2021. Due to all the ramifications resulting from the Covid pandemic, it is no longer possible to remain open to serve you...our guests/family and the town of Cabo San Lucas. We have had a beautiful 50-year journey and so many of you have been visiting us for almost that long as well. You are family. No doubt about it. Many of you have reservations for future dates. Please contact the US Reservations Office or the hotel to discuss your cancellations. (Please be patient if we don’t get back to you post haste due to the onslaught of Incoming calls and emails.)

Thank you doesn’t begin to express our sentiments. But yes, thank you for your loyalty and friendships through the years. We will publish one last newsletter and make another post with some pictures of the employees and guests here on FB so keep on the lookout. Blessings to you and yours from all of us to all of you. We will miss you!

COVID-19 TEST PROTOCOL - HOTEL MAR DE CORTEZ (Feb/2021)

On January 12, 2021, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) expanded the requirements for a negative COVID-19 test to all the passengers entering the United States.

In addition to our safety measures already in place we are offering the following service:

• Our guests will now be able to take the COVID-19 Antigen test at one of our accredited hospitals, Saint Luke’s Hospital in Cabo San Lucas. All COVID-19 testing is done by appointment only. (Appointments will be scheduled by the front desk staff.)

• Guests should discuss scheduling their appointment with our front desk staff at check in, in order to schedule departure for testing.

• Transportation to the hospital and back will be provided by Hotel Mar de Cortez Free of Charge, one of our staff members will go along with our guests to the hospital.

• Cost of the Antigen Test is $25.00 USD plus tax.(Discounted rate for Hotel Mar de Cortez guests)

• Test result will be received the same day in written and/or in mail format as required by the CDC.

• In the unlikely event a guest has been tested positive, please contact front desk for options available, we will gladly help you go thru this process.

* Other tests like PCR test, are also available for our Canadian travelers with a cost of $ 208.USD, also a special price for Hotel Mar de Cortez.

* COVID-19 test costs are constantly changing for the better. We will provide you with the best options regarding price and certified hospitals and laboratories.

HOW TO GET YOUR COVID-19 TEST WHILE VISITING LOS CABOS FOR RETURNING TO US OR CANADA? More detailed information specifically for Hotel Mar de Cortez guests will be posted tomorrow, Jan 21, 2021.

Starting on January 26, 2021, all air travelers flying to the United States will be required to present proof of a negative COVID-19 test administered within three days prior to their international departure.
